She is co-coordinator of the Master program in Engineering and Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and of the Doctoral program in Engineering and Public Policy. She is a member of the scientific direction of Carnegie Mellon Portugal since 2014 and scientific coordinator in CEiiA since 2018.
She was adviser for Innovation in the Portuguese Ministry of Economy in 2016. From 2013 to 2015, she was a researcher in IN+ and invited teacher at IST. From 2010 to 2012 she was Deputy Director at the Directorate-General of Education and Science Statistics. In 2009/2010, she was adviser to the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Higher Education.
Professor Joana Mendonça obtained her diploma in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences – University of Lisboa. She holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Policy and Management of Technology from IST and a PhD in Engineering and Industrial Management also from IST.
